Touching the real pain of all is at the heart of the movement toward emancipation. But it can’t stop there. There is a second component to this journey toward freedom: fight! Too often we think of fighting as “fighting against.” I have learned that when you “fight against” someone or some policy, that person or policy may actually be reinforced. Rather, in this journey toward emancipation, we are called to fight for a vision that can be shared. We fight for a world that is inclusive of all creation. We fight, we rise up, for an economy of inclusion. It is my experience that we realise emancipation when we combine radical acceptance with fighting for a vision. Embracing all with care and fighting for an economy that benefits the 100% will liberate us from the shackles of polarization and division. In my experience, these events become like a communal fire. There is a flaming-up of community dedicated to the good of all. It is fire in the warmth of the care we share with each other and in the commitment to make a difference. It is a fire that frees us from fear, judgment, and isolation, and opens us to the freedom of an abundant universe. Rumi asked these same questions in his ageless poetry.
In our time of being shackled by income and wealth disparity, we are called to let a greater collective rise and flame up 🔥 in our lives. Emancipation, freedom, liberation, moksha, happens when our contemplative journey takes us beyond ourselves into care for all and sharing a vision that benefits the 100%. Your own Consciousness is a proclamation that together we must end the shackles of income and wealth disparity in nations around the world. This one body of humanity, of creation is in a single great struggle. Delve deeper now into your own being. Realise your own instant liberation. Listen deeply to where you are called to act. Join others in the quest for freedom from an economy of their exclusion. Come together in making different inclusive choices for and advocating for justice for the 100%. This is the human consciousness that ends division and the one for which humanity really longs. This deep contemplative life is a shared apolitical socialism in action. Where we as one humanity collectively rise up. The rockstar wives of the 70s played a central role in the entire culture surrounding them, and this season GESTUZ is putting them front and center. They are still the divine feminine stars. GESTUZ Spring/Summer 2025 / SS25 collections tilts it hat to the effortlessness of French and Scandinavian women, and the ever-present rock and roll inspiration of GESTUZ shows. “My vision was to create a collection that embraced a summer of luxurious rock and roll. I looked towards the strong women of the 70s, especially in the music scene, and found such a power in the way they created their own personal narrativ in the way they dressed. They looked just as amazing in a full-length pearl dress as they did in jeans or a suit. And that is very much the essence of what I want to create with each collection. The IT women of this period were somehow both overdressed and underdressed at the same time, and I just love that. The societal rules of what to wear and when are pushed away, and instead they created their own language of imperfect luxury and personal style.” Creative Director Sanne Sehested.
The GESTUZ SS25 show is hosted in the historic Moltkes Palæ. The 300 year old mansion in the centre of Copenhagen draws the mind to the gilded halls of the Belle Epoque mansion, and mixing the two worlds of luxury and rock, Danish artist Brimheim is invited to perform live at the SS25 show, paying homage to the old rock legends creating magic under beautiful chandeliers. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🙏 Then there is music that pushes boundaries. 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗺 - 𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 (𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰)🎶 There’s something incredibly intriguing about Brimheim as an artist that I can’t truly pinpoint specifically. She has a very distinctive point of view that comes out in her thought provoking alt-pop style - usually combining theatrical visuals that touch on certain topics from social to the personal with this brooding deep and dark vocal that is both incredibly expressive and highly emotive. Each song sounds different from the rest, especially on the new album which makes for such a fun journey to follow along with. From the humorous to the mundane, there is absolutely no rock unturned that Birmheim has used to inspire her songs, giving an altogether honest and frank insight into her world. RATKING is the organic continuation of her exploring her own mind and thoughts however muddled, delusional or colourful it may be at times. I first heard Brimheim with her debut Can’t Hate Myself Into A Different Shape which I fell in love with pretty instantly. The title track was one of my favourite releases of 2022 and is still played pretty regularly. There’s something about her deep tonal range that is so magnetic to me. I’m a big fan of how she uses layering within her song structures with these piercing beats that, in terms of new album RATKING, is perfectly displayed in the song Literally Everything which is quite literally a banger of a track. One of my favourite moments on the album for sure. There are some other fantastic and memorable moments on the album such as on the track Keep Bleeding Diamonds, which builds this euphorically cinematic chorus in such a unique and intriguing way. Brand New Woman feat eee gee is also a great standout - a twisted fun track that uses these super infectious retro synths to form colourful explosions of sound which I love so much. A beautiful blend of acoustic harmonies and reflectiveness on the track Snow Angels showcase a really pretty soft side to the album - a great breather between the more uptempo hits that surround it. This slower pace also ends the album perfectly with the track Hurricane which I’d say is one of the most emotively driven tracks on the album. RATKING overall has a great balance of expressive creativity and accessible melodies - an album that I am so excited to deep dive more with continuous plays. Thank you for disrupting disruption.
