Maybe they do buy you flowers every week,
Maybe they do take you on exotic holidays
Maybe they are big on flashy restaurants and fancy dates,
or Maybe they even “spoil” you with other nice material things. \
Of course, enjoy these Many Present Maybes and receive.

And then?
If those Material Maybe's begin to feel hollow?
If those material presents become a substitute for a deeper heart connection?
If those material maybe's become mere performative substitutes?
What then?
Does the maybe magic cease?
Does the love lose it's spark and disappear?
Does material comfort become stifling?

Instead of Maybe's That May Cease To Be Shared,

Don't ruminate, activate. I find it is difficult to think my way into a better mood. When I sit and stew, the problem usually grows larger in my mind. But if I activate — even if it's unrelated to the problem at hand — my mood tends to improve. Action breaks the spell. Move your body, go outside, play an instrument, work in a different room, do something. Movement changes your state. And when your state changes, your perspective changes. New solutions appear. You notice options that were invisible when your mind was stuck running the same loop.
