When we live in a state of fear, like Dutton and Murdoch espouse, we are more likely to seek safety and stability, accepting guidance or decisions we might otherwise question.
LNP Governments, their funding organizations, party leaders, and the mainstream legacy media understand this. Create division, capture sound bites in culture wars, make us live in a state of fear THEN makes it easier to direct public opinion and manipulate us by offering quick fixes and “vote for me” hollow mantras.
LNP uses fear to create an "us vs them" mentality. Aspirational appeal always has and unless the newly elected leaders of both the Liberals and the Nationals change tack now, their traditional support base, who is fast becoming compost anyway, will further disappear.
An electorate forced into high levels of emotional stress or standard of living fear, tend to make decisions based more on emotion than policy or logic or common sense. The peasants WERE revolting and wanted cake, but said collectively “fuck you Dutton” in a thousand different ways. This is even more common in smart women who are not heard, because they are more intuitive than men are.
Liberal and National politicians simply do not listen. To erudite women or hard working family people or diverse minorities be it racial, religious or gender. In this state of fear as perpetuated by Boomer Spud Pedro and Legacy Press Rupe’s ink dribblers, there’s little room for forming different opinions, let alone safely expressing them, listening to people with different belief systems, engaging in healthy conversations, or doing personal research without uncritically accepting what a douche bag geriatric politician, or self-proclaimed media “expert,” or other dark web data silos of algorithm driven META “media” is telling us.
Scrolling screen conditioning kills critical thinking. The lowest common denominator mentality and social media’s forced manipulation, now sold and marketed in endlessly forced fake stories and reels and feeds and posts and inane testimonies made up by desperate content influencing charlatans. Media owners like Musk, Bezos and Zuckerberg take advantage of this lack of critical thinking in otherwise “educated” users (as does legacy press like Murdoch) These social media’s now intentionally train their AI to maximise screen time engagement, no matter how shallow and vague those 3 second grabs on neural pathways may be.
Make no mistake the real dark web are the closed source “socials” that many freely give their lack of attention to. Shallow, repetitive, baseless junk spam and LCD race to the bottom stupidity to bottom trawl as much linked META data in closed LLM data silos.
Politicians, like the LNP, love this passive consumer, an uncritical human robot consuming mindless fear on social media because the brain rotting scrollers don’t even realise they are lost little non critical non discerning voters and such a fear full constituency is exactly why the LNP got so sharply voted off the island. That old boomer time is over.
That do as you are told or else is gone. Australians woke up and said no more. But where does that leave us now as unethical AI “garbage in garbage out” trawls more of these culture war closed source LLM screen addicts?
That’s why relevant contemporary political parties and thought leaders who are not fear mongers, who balance innovative growth policy and secure regulation of any ubiquitous technology (electricity/fuel/internet/AI) will prosper as post war boomers and their legacies simply die off. Inter generational change and unwavering core values are rising as younger people realise it’s time to stand for something or they will fall for anything.
That’s what a core value is. Integrity, discipline, authentic non preachy values that matter like inclusion, diversity, questioning EVERYTHING and DISCERNINGLY listen to the ARTS OR science OF REAL HUMANS who actually know THEIR SHIT.
Not fear full, shallow content influencers who sell bullshit through closed source secretive social media’s silos intent on grooming their monopoly secretive AI LLMs like Zuckerberg, Musk and Bezos have been allowed to now for decades.
So now, moving forward freshly, without stuck staid last century conservatives, what may emerge in this next term of government? The senate as the house or review will be fascinating for many reasons. Not least of which is the extremely high percentage of capable women on all sides of politics. The senate leaders are mostly now female and conservative misogynistic men still stuck in party factions will not like that political fact one little bit.
It is time now for some real DEEPER innovative thought progress, policy, that turns into sensible progressive law and actions.
