WABI SABI
Swiss Concept is a minimalist space located in Valencia, Spain, designed by Francesc Rifé Studio. Inspired by Eastern aesthetic, this clinical space was conceived as a beauty sanctuary. The aim was to express deep thoughts with very simple means: through light wood to give the space a calm feel, but also with backlit translucent glass to capture the emotion of light.

Curitiba’s architecture office MOCA chose the naturalness of wood as the major player material, offering a warm and cozy aesthetic to an environment that is usually depicted by cold colors and materials. The human inspiration came directly from the oriental Wabi sabi concept, an aesthetic approach that seeks to enhance the surroundings with authenticity and modesty.
Seeking that visual modesty, the architects Ana Sikorski and Katia Azevedo brought a minimalist identity to the environment through elements in the landscaping, futon bench in the reception and translucent glass panels as a reference to the oriental rice papers, that not only refers to the identity of the owners (of Korean origin), as well as to the values of discipline, seriousness and commitment.
