You don’t have to keep someone active in your life just because you understand them. Empathy doesn’t require access. You can love someone, wish them well, and still know they’re not aligned with the integrity, respect, honesty, or care you deserve. 

Maturity is knowing when to walk away. 

Maturity is paying attention, listening, witnessing and continuously challenging your own limited beliefs or limiting assumptions by learning. 

Going forward, the people who thrive will be those who read widely, who are open to multiple diverse perspectives and can hold paradoxical concurrent truths simultaneously. Those who are able to write or design without the assistance of a machine, who haven’t allowed endless artificial digital slop to kill their human curiosity and deep, reflective thinking abilities. 

Read books. 

Keep your brain fresh and working or you'll be left behind. 

And then? 

Never attach to your mind or come to conclusions. 

Challenge your own assumptions, question everything, dive deeper to the foundational sources, investigate discerningly, not churlishly, do not listen to gossip, drop the people pleasing and perfectionism,  pay attention, be astonished, be in awe more, simply ask better questions and learn to sit comfortably with not knowing. 

The lead learners of now and tomorrow are fully lit from within, they read, they think for them Self, they do not follow trends or the pack and do not attach to beliefs, creeds or “that’s the way we’ve always done it”. 

They realise there is far more than one good book so any restrictive dogma, limiting mantras or pontificating guru sales bullshit is easily listened to, and then parked where it belongs. In the bin of irrelevancy. 

The eternally young of heart are already thriving, not merely surviving, not bouncing from self created crisis to crisis, drama laden and anxiously chaotic. Calm, self contained energy realises there is nothing to realise; these dynamic and self disciplined learners are lovers of life. They never take themselves too seriously, never over explain their priorities and choices, and are simply self aware of what they do NOT want and what they deserve. High standards and strong yet welcoming boundaries. They are open to receive life fully and easily connect, not attach, to equally fresh and aligned people, places and energy. 

Shift happens, so be on the next beauty full wave of active human creativity, not brain numbing, mind less attached and staid, boring machine, screen, artificial sales and wasteful consumption.
