Poetry leaps off the page every day in August
This year's program reveals poetry everywhere — woven through music,film, art, entertainment, performanceand media. Comedians, musicians and beloved Australian cultural icons join emerging talent and our most acclaimed poets for a celebration of words in action.
The 2025 Poetry Month Ambassadorsinclude journalist Stan Grant, comedian Suren Jayemanne, screenwriter Luke Davies, rapper Dobby, musician Leah Senior, model Nyaluak Leth and broadcaster Julia Baird. Back for another year, 30in30 offers up a new poem every day in August — featuring award-winning poets and writers such as Nam Le, Amy Crutchfield, Grace Yee, Justin Heazlewood, Jo Giles, Eunice Adrada, Beejay Silcox and David Brooks - responding to the world in real time, helping make sense of ourselves and each other, sparking delight, curiosity and inspiration.
The National Poetry Month Gala on 28 August at the State Library of NSW will close out the month of showcases, workshops, and diverse events across the country and online.
