“A NEW TRINITY FOR OUR TIME”

As an environmental activist, Satish Kumar is convinced that climate change is merely a symptom of a crisis, and that our current economy is the cause. 

Known for his 8,000-kilometer march for nuclear disarmament, he now devotes his time to developing a new educational system. Convinced that education has an important role to play in educating not just our heads, but also our bodies and our hearts, he founded the Schumacher College in Totnes. This international training center focuses on spiritual ecology, a movement of thought that places nature as a subject equal to man and as a source of intelligence, in order to offer training in holistic ecology and sustainable living practices. Persuaded that deep ecological commitment comes from deep experience, this school is also a place for research and experimentation, welcoming international activists.
