 Micky Hoogendijk’s sculptural practice explores the concept of human connection in its broadest sense. Her bronze sculptures, featuring anonymous figures intertwined and apart, delve into the intricate dynamics of human connection and separation. Through these works, she highlights the power and strength found in human relationships, while also revealing the beauty of vulnerability.

Born in Amsterdam in 1970, Micky’s journey through the arts has been a vibrant tapestry of exploration and creativity. Raised among artists, gallerists, and performers, she was destined for a life in the creative realm. In the 1990s, she emerged as a pivotal figure in the Dutch art scene, directing Rob Scholte BV and gaining fame as an actress.

Micky’s artistic evolution took a transformative turn in 2012 when she embraced photography, using a camera gifted by her late mother. 
Her self-taught, evocative portraits quickly garnered international acclaim, leading to exhibitions around the globe. Today, her work spans continents and genres, creating new mythologies through her compelling imagery.

Residing in Amsterdam at the historic Huize Zonnewijzer, Micky continues to craft her unique vision. Her collaborative project, The Ones at Home Gallery, bridges her sculptural and photographic practices, inviting visitors to explore the depths of human existence through her lens.
